Japan ever in our thoughts

by Luminita Suse

KADO is the haiku group of the Ottawa area. Every year they hold the spring meeting at the Japanese Embassy.

In this meeting the chair was passed from Terry Ann Carter to Claudia Coutu Radmore.

It was my first time meeting with this group so I read my best pieces of tanka that were published in the last 6 months or so. My mother accompanied me.

The group welcomed me warmly. I felt as if I have always been with them. I knew many of them from the Tree Reading Series or from the tanka and haiku publications: Claudia Coutu Radmore, Terry Ann Carter, Pearl Pirie, Grant Savage, Mike Montreuil, Gill Foss, Guy Simser, Margot Gallant.

I am looking forward to the next meeting.
