the letters of cannot-do-without-you
slump in the hourglass we bought
from Bombay store
at half price
that day you dug a pomegranate out of the blue snow
and juggled it in crisp air
until the ticking bomb burst into a bird
that is now thrashing its precious wings
in my rib cage
